• The final line-up this year will feature over 50 unique spaces across the city of Hamilton. Many will offer tours, entertainment, special exhibits, activities, displays and so much more. Sites are juried to ensure a quality visitor experience. Doors Open traces its roots to European Heritage Days, or Doors Open Days, with earliest events being held in France (1984), Netherlands (1987), Scotland (1990) and continuing today across the EU. The North American Doors Open concept began in Toronto (2000) was developed into an Ontario wide initiative in 2002 and is now active across Canada, United States and South America.
